FPWA provides nearly 170 human services agencies and faith-based institutions, throughout New York City and beyond, with access to a range of services, programs, and grants that help nonprofits and faith institutions address the needs of their communities.
FPWA proudly partners with our member organizations and leaders within the human services and faith spaces to not only alleviate the conditions of poverty and economic insecurity, but also to create the necessary structural change to finally make opportunity and justice a reality for all communities.
FPWA continues to be deep in the throes of advocacy and policy research addressing economic inequity and the need for investment and action in our city, state and nation to address poverty and injustice. It is our continued aim to ensure that human services organizations and faith institutions alike have the resources they need to meet the needs of the people they serve now and in the near future, especially as New York strives to recover from the pandemic.
Social service agencies and faith-based institutions within the New York City metro area that have 501(c)(3) status and support economic equity for their constituents are invited to apply for membership with FPWA. FPWA welcomes non-sectarian and sectarian nonprofit agencies that serve people regardless of age, religious affiliation, ethnicity, race, gender, or sexual orientation.
Our annual membership fees are based on the size of an agency’s budget and are as follows:

FPWA has recently been receiving claims from members of the public emailing and calling our offices that individuals posing as FPWA agents have contacted them claiming that in order for the recipient to claim grant monies from FPWA they must first send the agent personal information, a cell phone number, gift card codes or money.
FPWA does not use social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), text messages or direct phone contact to solicit, review, or make awards. FPWA staff will not call or message you requesting money in order to be eligible for an award.
Further, FPWA does not make grants directly to individuals. FPWA works with its member agency partners and other reputable community-based organizations to direct support to families and individuals in our community.
