FPWA CEO and Executive Director Jennifer Jones Austin  Responds to Governor Cuomo’s  State of the State Address and Highlights the Need for Strengthening of the Human Services Sector

“FPWA commends Governor Cuomo for putting forth progressive policies in his State of the State Address, including the New York Promise Agenda which would raise the age of criminal adult responsibility, expand opportunities for immigrants and their families, and eliminate the wage gap. In addition, the Governor’s proposal to enhance the child care tax credit more than doubles the average tax credit.  New York has long been a progressive leader, fighting for and implementing policies that advance upward mobility, and pushing us forward as a nation.  Key to maintaining our stance as a national leader is our investment in and strengthening of the human services sector, which is vital to ensuring that hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are able to benefit from the Governor’s Promise Agenda.  We look forward to working with the Governor and his administration to ensure the implementation of this agenda and a strong human services sector.”
